The Handicap Cup is designed to give the clubs from the lower reaches of Group 2 to compete on an even playing field with those at the top of Group 1. The Handicap system works on the basis that the lesser players are given a head start at the start of each game.
The success of the system is reflected in the fact that it was won this year by BNCA D from Division 3. The year before, BNCA F from the then Division 2 and the year before that by BNCA H from Division 3.
